1.2bn Renewable Energy IP dispute to be Arbitrated by BAC

What has recently been described as the “largest intellectual property case ever undertaken in China” will be arbitrated by the Beijing Arbitration Commission this week.  The case has been brought by AMSC, a US based wind turbine component maker against Sinovel Wind Group.  The claim is for 1.2bn in damages for alleged IP infringement of low-voltage ride through (LVRT) technology.  The technology is used to support grid stability in wind turbines.  The case is being watched closely by the renewable energy sector.  More information can be be found here.
